A few of my favorite quotes!

It is no secret that I love reading and writing, and by extension I have favorite authors and quotes that inspire me everyday. I am going to leave a few of my favorite quotes here so you guys can learn more about me and maybe even be inspired by some of them.

I love Jane Austen. Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and everything she has ever written! She was an amazing writer and I love this quote.

Speaking of Jane Austen, this quote is from one of her characters. The amazing Mr. Darcy is handsome and charming. I love Mr. Darcy and this quote.

I love this quote from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because as much as I am a dreamer I also implore living in the moment. Thank you J.K. Rowling for inspiring quotes!

Although this quote is unknown I love it. As I said I am a dreamer and now that I am making my way into the adult world I'm trying to make my dreams a reality and this quote is the embodiment of my future.

Lastly I love this quote because not only does it promote body positivity (which I am all about), it also encourages women to show off their smart or nerdy side (which I also encourage).

I have many more favorite quotes, but that would make this post much too long and nobody has time for that. What are some of your favorite quotes? Leave them in the comments!

I'm only a little obsessed...

For past several years pineapples have been a summer trend, and I have been loving them. Every time I am out in public and I see something with pineapples on it I announce it to whoever is with me (typically my sister or boyfriend). I love everything with pineapples. Tank tops, decor, jewelry, the actual fruit, etc. I have found a few things on Pinterest to express my love for pineapples so I can share them with you all.

I had both of these shirts pinned. I love everything about them! You can never go wrong with a loose fitting t-shirt, especially ones that are soft and cozy.

This, I did not have pinned, but how cute is this trinket dish?! Earrings, bracelets, rings, I'll find something to go in it!

Another clothing item that I had pinned. I love this loose tank top with the cute pineapple!

I love this quote! It has been my background on my phone for a while. I found it on Pinterest and loved it immediately.

And last, but by no means least, this adorable wine cork. I also love gold as much as I love pineapples, so this is perfect! What's something you are loving at the moment? Leave it in the comments.

Just be yourself

Always be yourself. Do not change because other people want you to. This is one of the most important lessons that you can learn in life, and sometimes you have to learn it the hard way. In a few years whatever you said, wore, etc. will be long forgotten. It's not worth the stress. Being yourself is the most stress free way to live life.

The less you worry about what other people think of you the better everything will become. Of course it is natural to be self-conscious during those awkward teen years, but the less you care about what others think about you the happier you will be. Wear what you want, give your opinion, express yourself however you want! Just be yourself! If everyone Earth was the same the world would be a very boring place. It is your job to bring something unique to the world because you are awesome. Be whatever you want to be. Be smart, be confident, be kind, be sensitive, be a badass. Just be unforgivably yourself because you are an amazing person, and there will never be anyone else who is like you.

While you are being yourself, don't be afraid to try new things. Go on adventures and be spontaneous! I wouldn't have found my passion if I hadn't taken random classes in my first few years of college. Have stories to tell! Try new foods, make new friends, etc. Don't be afraid of trying new things; it could be the best thing you've ever done! An adventure doesn't have to be elaborate. Adventures can be as simple as a trip to Petsmart, a picnic at the park, or a walk around the block. The saying goes "spontaneity is the spice of life" and that is true because adventures and being spontaneous are exciting! They are the memories that last a lifetime.

This was a rather short post, but there is no need to ramble on without getting into many many more cliches. What is something that makes you unique? Let me know in the comments! I think that my love for reading and books makes me unique. I especially love the smell of books. I know there are plenty of people who love to read, but this is only my opinion after all.

Getting organized...

As I said in this previous blog post, I moved home after I graduated. Not only did I move home, but at Christmas my brother and I switched rooms, and my new room was a little smaller than my old room. However, I am a master at organizing things into a small space because I lived in college housing for four years, so this was a challenge I happily accepted. After four days of organizing I finally finished my room and got it exactly the way I wanted it, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Before! Cameo from my dog, Ginger
Another before picture!
This is my room after everything had been moved in, and before everything had been put away. At this point I did not think everything would fit, that I would have to do some major downsizing, and make several Goodwill trips. At first it was hard to walk around my room. It felt like I was doing parkor to get to my bed! I knew I wanted this done quickly, and I knew my closet would be the biggest task! I also wanted to convert my old makeup table to be half desk and half makeup table.

After the mess!

It is so nice not having to do parkor anymore!

My pretty bookcase and desk

I am happy to say that I was successful! I organized my closet and converted the table to half desk and half makeup table! I love every inch of my room, and am beyond happy that it is all done. Now I have a space for blogging, reading, cozy evenings in bed watching Netflix, and getting ready for dates. I will be doing more blog posts about more specific parts of my room like my desk, new home decor, and my closet!

I graduated college! Now what?

About three weeks ago I graduated from college...wow! I am most definitely still a kid at heart, so sometimes it is hard to believe that I am 22 years old and a college graduate. I mean, that's all you work towards for about 12 years of your life (if that is what you decide you want), and then in a day it's over and you have finished. Now what?

My awesome cap
What is the life of a college graduate like? Where do you go from here? What's next?

To be honest life after college is a lot of hours applying for jobs and figuring out where you want to go and what you want to do. The majority of college graduates do not use their degrees, which was shocking for me to hear. My dad is a prime example, but he loves what he does and I think that's the dream! Finding a job I love is my dream. Find something you are passionate about and do it!

What's next for me? I am not sure, and that's okay because I am 22. Many college graduates do not know what they want to do. Sometimes it takes a crappy job, several interviews, and lots of research to figure it all out. Sometimes you just get lucky and stumble into something you love. It's not about how you get there, but just the fact that you get there that makes all the difference.

Right now I am working at a family business, and I am loving it. That is about as far as I have gotten, but I will figure it out eventually! I am also living at home. There is no shame in moving home after college because living somewhere with free rent is the dream, especially when you have student loans to start paying off. It gives you time to find a job and save money while living rent free, bill free, and getting free meals!

This is the official welcome to Looking Good Gorgeous! I know this is up on a Saturday, but I will be posting every Wednesday instead because that is better for me to be able to make sure everything is up on time and running smooth! See you Wednesday. :)
