Small closet organization

Not long ago, I posted this about getting my room organized, and my closet was the biggest task out of my whole room because of all the extra stuff from my desk, things I was storing for the future, and other miscellaneous items that do not traditionally go in a closet.
This is wonderland
This is my wonderful closet that I now love. After getting everything was organized I felt so relieved because I was nervous about getting everything to fit, but after living in dorm rooms for four years I think I am a master organizer.
Shelves from old crates to make more space!
These crate shelves were already in the closet, so I took them apart and used them for extra shelving so I did not waste any space. This is all the stuff that used to be in the shelves near my desk when I had a separate bookshelf. The two black boxes also house all my random accessories like gloves, pantyhose, etc.
My hat hooks
These hooks that were already in the closet were the perfect places for my baseball hats.
More additional shelves, bathing suits in a drawer divider in
the corner, plus folded sweaters to add room to hang things up.

There were more of those crates that I took a apart for shoe storage and I folded my sweaters instead of hanging them up to save space. It's kind of hard to see, but on the bottom shelf to the right I put my bikinis in a drawer divider just to keep the separate and organized.
Bath bomb basket and a crate for scarves
I decided to keep my scarves in this super cute crate because it was really the only place they could go and the bathbombs couldn't go in the bathroom so I just stuck the basket on this shelf as well. Not my closet smells awesome!
Crates for shoes and bags and drawers for more space
These crates were perfect for more shoes and purses/small bags. The decorative drawers are perfect under the stuff that is hanging up for extra bits that are folded like leggings and other cozy clothes.
Random things on the top shelf
The top shelf I left for random things like games, scrapbooks, and other things to store because it's hard for me to reach so it wouldn't be a good place to put things I use often.
Shelves on the right for tshirts, sweatshirts, pants,
shorts, and fuzzy pants
The shelves on the right were the perfect place for tshirts, tank tops, jeans, shorts, sweatshirts, and fuzzy lounge pants.

All the shelving in perfect for folded things to save space on hanging things up since I was low on space. I saved the hanging rod for things that definitely needed to be hung up. Drawers under the stuff hanging up I had in college and were perfect since I was low on drawer space, and they were cheap too! Hope this helps anyone about to start college, or is moving. If you don't fit those categories I hope you enjoyed this post! What are things you use to stay organized? Do you like crates, shelves, drawers, dividers, etc.? Let me know in the comments!

Sugar scrubs are important

**Note: This post is not sponsored by Bath and Body Works**

Exfoliation is an important part of my beauty routine and, honestly, I am not the best at keeping up with it. I have sensitive skin, so every time I shave it is imperative that I exfoliate or I will get razor bumps. It's not really razor burn because it doesn't burn; they are just bumps. Sometimes I also get ingrown hairs, which are not fun at all. Exfoliating is a way to prevent these things from happening, and it makes my skin feel super soft.

My current sugar scrub!
This is the scrub that I am using. This was part of the Oahu range from Bath and Body Works from this summer. The scent is called coconut sunset, but it is not a super strong coconut scent. It does smell tropical, and the scent is lovely; it is not at all overpowering. The scrub mostly takes away ingrown hairs and razor bumps and it makes my legs feel very soft.

I also like making homemade sugar scrubs because you can customize the smell. I have made a cinnamon one and a peppermint one and everyone that I gave them too seemed to like them (I didn't hear otherwise). I might make a post with a recipe soon. It is very easy (and cheap) to make and you can find cheap jars to put them in!

Do you have a favorite scrub you use? Let me know in the comments.

Patches and Pins...the new trend

What goes around comes around and fashion trends are no exception. Recently it seems that there have been a rejuvenation of 80s and 90s trends. I have seen a lot of denim jackets, jeans, dungarees, etc with patches and pins, and I think it looks awesome! Whether you buy them with patches, or DIY your own with iron on patches. Personally I prefer the pins to the patches.

I think that different pins would look cute on dungarees or a canvas bag. I love the quirky pins that I have found on Pinterest!

This pin was one of the best things I have seen! I love the T-Rex skull and "clever girl" is a phrase I love. I don't know why, but I love that phrase and I love this pin.

Picture from Pinterest
I love this pin because it closely resembles my favorite quote from Shakespeare. I am little, but I am fierce!

I love these pins because they are different and cool! Simple as that.

I love this pin simply because I love lipstick, and red is just the perfect, classic color. You can never go wrong with a red!

I love these cute and quirky strawberries! This pin just makes me really happy!

Every pin above I have pinned on Pinterest plus so many more! I would love to collect some pins, but where to start? If you know where I can find some cute pins like these, let me know in the comments.

My awesome desk space!

As I have mentioned in this previous post, I have been working to perfect my new desk space. Finally I have finished moving things around, and have perfectly organized the area into my new work space. My desk is finally perfect and I am loving this part of my room.

My beautiful work space
This is my wonderful desk with plenty of storage. I have ample storage for everything. There are two drawers plus everything I have added myself. It is perfect for my smaller room and makes me excited to sit down and blog. My perfect creative space, and it's next to the window so there is plenty of natural light! There is also a quote on my wall that is not in the picture above my desk that says "Dream until your dream comes true" that I absolutely love.
The desk part
This is the desk half, and underneath is some makeup, hair, lotion, etc. storage. I was so glad that it fits perfectly under my desk.
My pretty desk
Close up of the desk side with my two new fake plants. On top of the drawers is a hanging succulent, and behind my laptop is a little plant that looks like grass. I always keep my calendar and writing notebook on my desk so I stay up to date with blog posts and events. I also have another calendar hanging close by on my bookshelves. I love calendars.
The makeup part
This is the makeup half where I keep the things I use in the morning to get ready for the day and at night before bed. The shelf is actually a locker shelf, but it is perfect for extra storage room.
More storage
Under the makeup side I keep a little crate with hair stuff and my bath pillow. This is a little extra storage I needed to keep these things close by in case of a hair emergency, like me actually wanting to do something with my hair.

I love the plants around my work space, the bright colors, calendars/notebooks, and encouraging words like the little one sitting on my desk and the one above it. All of these things help me focus and keep me motivated to blog. What keeps you motivated? Let me know in the comments.

Overalls? Or Dungarees?

This style has been coming back around for a couple years now and continues to grow. Overalls! However, I don't like this word. Overalls make me think of hillbillies and washboards and not a clothing item I would ever consider wearing, rather something my mom would've stuck me in when I was not yet old enough to dress myself. From this point further I will refer to them as dungarees, a quirky word from other areas of the world that describe this clothing item.

Picture from Pinterest
I pinned these dungarees forever ago and I still love them! I think dungarees would be cute with pins attached to them and with a crop top underneath on hot summer days with converse.

Picture from Pinterest
These long dungarees would be cute on a spring day or a summer day with a t-shirt or tank top underneath. I love them because they are even super cute cuffed at the bottom.

I love this new trend and I cannot wait to find the perfect pair! How do you feel about this fashion trend? Let me know in the comments.

Super cute hats!

Within the past couple years floppy hats have grown in popularity. At first I was not too sure about them, but now I am loving them! For autumn, spring, or summer I think they are a very cute and quirky way to complete an outfit.

Picture from Pinterest

I found this one on Pinterest because I love the dark colored hats like black or maroon for autumn, but I have not found the perfect one to pin yet. This might be my perfect dark floppy hat!

Picture from Pinterest

I pinned this one that I fell in love with! I think it is so adorable for summer because it says "hello sunshine" and it would go with a lot of different outfits.

I think this style is adorable. I am not sure I'll be able to pull it off, but I will keep searching until I find the perfect floppy hat! Do you have a style you are keen to try? Tell me about it in the comments!
